New commercial space supports wellness company’s growth

A Cheshire business specialising in the wholesale of medical cosmetics and aesthetic medicine, has purchased a new, purpose-built warehouse.

With funding from Barclays, the new warehouse will support Wellness Trading’s ambitious growth plans following a strong performance in the first six years of trading.

Run by Sandra and Adam Birtwistle from Styal in Cheshire, Wellness Trading is the sole distributor in the UK for Mesoestetic, a global leader in the medical cosmetics and aesthetic medicine sector.

Established in 1985, Mesoestetic products are now marketed in more than 50 countries worldwide through registered distributors and renowned aesthetics professionals.

For the last three years, Wellness Trading has distributed Mesoestetic products from outbuilding at the home premises.

However, after three consecutive years of growth, Sandra and Adam have been able to secure new commercial premises to support the continued expansion of the business.

With the help of a six-figure commercial mortgage and a £100,000 Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan from Barclays, the couple have purchased 6,000 sq ft of purpose built warehouse and office space at Novus Park in Knutsford.

Barclays relationship manager Paul Deighton said: “Since my first meeting with Sandra and Adam, I have been impressed with their drive, energy and customer focus.

“In the subsequent three years, we have built a close relationship and I’m therefore delighted to support the purchase of their first commercial premises which will provide the platform they need as they seek to accelerate growth even further.”

Sandra Birtwistle, co-director of Wellness Trading, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Barclays’ team and have been very impressed with Paul’s desire to understand our business and build a strong partnership approach.

“New commercial premises will allow us to grow sales and create local jobs – the next few years will be very exciting for our business!”
