KOMI Group expands Manchester HQ as it reaches milestone revenue

KOMI Group, the Ancoats-based social media, marketing, and licensing company, has doubled its office space and grown turnover to £2m.

The agency moved its operations to Beehive Mill in early 2020 and has since taken an additional 1,300 sq ft on a six year lease.

It has also announced that it achieved £2m turnover for the first time and that it will grow its headcount to 50 by September.

In the past two weeks it has made five new appointments in the social division’s ‘originals’ team which focuses on creating brand new content in-house.

Adam Reynolds has been appointed business development manager; Ellie Decourcey is a new account executive; Anna Guest joins as a production coordinator; whilst Chloe Grantham and Holly Carrington are the newest assistant producers.

Over the coming months it will also be hiring an editorial lead for Ark – its licensing division; as well as social media, junior writer, social media video, BDM, and agency sales manager roles.

The news follows last month’s announcement that KOMI Media – the company’s dedicated in-house publishing division – secured record engagement figures for one of its key brands in the latest set of Facebook insight tool CrowdTangle figures covering May 2021.

It’s Gone Viral, which is dedicated to relatable, informative, and educational content, was ranked third in the list.

It grew its page followers from 5,8m to 7.5m.

Andrew Trotman, managing director, said: “The past 18 months has been a period like no other, but the whole team has remained steadfastly focussed on delivering for our clients and communities.

“People’s love for, and consumption of, social media has grown since the pandemic began so we have worked hard to deliver engaging, relevant, and truthful content. That has really resonated with the brands we work with and our followers.”

Andrew added: “KOMI Group’s growth, both physically with our office space and team numbers as well as the sharp rise in our community numbers and views, is testament to that unwavering approach. The next few months will be another exciting period as we continue to maximise and build on what we’ve achieved so far.”

KOMI Group is a three divisional agency business consisting of dedicated social media, marketing, and licensing teams.

Its team of content creators, analysts and video producers have made and then distributed video content and viral campaign adverts for international brands such as BBC Films, O2, Universal, Bud Light and Disney.

Content is shared across its Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts including the It’s Gone Viral page as well as Go Fetch, a platform for dog lovers to connect with one another.
