New city centre space for furniture specialist

37 King Street, Manchester

International furniture specialist, The Furniture Practice, is set to expand to a new workspace in Manchester city centre.

The Furniture Practice North has signed a 10-year lease with a five-year break to occupy the 4th floor at 37 King Street and will be relocating from serviced offices at Dalton Place, operated by WeWork.

Founded in 1997, The Furniture Practice helps clients make furniture decisions, drawing on design-led knowledge, emerging trends and experience of working with leading global businesses.

With offices in the UK, US and Europe, TFP delivers projects ranging from offices and co-working spaces to Build-to-Rent residential properties, hotels and restaurants.

OBI advised on the transaction and have also been appointed to design the new workspace and manage the fit out.

Jennifer Dunn, associate director and head of TFP North said: “After the challenges of the past 15 months, this feels like a defining moment for The Furniture Practice; as our Manchester team moves to a new, independent office with ample room to grow.

“We’ve been really impressed by OBI’s service throughout this process, as well as their unique local knowledge and expertise. We can’t wait to see the finishing touches applied by OBI’s design team.”

Debbie Meredith, from transactions and asset management at OBI, said: “It is fantastic to see the transaction completed for The Furniture Practice.

“It has been a pleasure working closely with the team to find new premises that support the move from serviced to conventional workspace, from which they can develop the growth of the business in the UK.

“We are now looking forward to seeing this creative, collaborative workspace being designed and fitted out by our in- house team.”
