Entries open for the long-awaited Finance Awards North West
The long-awaited 2022 Finance Awards North West has now opened for entries.
The awards ceremony, which will take at Old Trafford Football Stadium on Thursday 12 May 2022, are organised by Robert Walters, ICAEW Manchester, RSM and HSBC and recognise the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals within the region’s finance community.
With over 500 professionals attending the 2019 ceremony, the awards have become the leading networking event for finance professionals in the North West, with accolades given to a breadth of businesses including NCC Group, Autocab and Hilti.
The relaunch puts an end to the awards’ 12-month hiatus due to the pandemic, as venue spaces will once again hold events of this scale.
The award partners, alongside previous winners, marked the launch of the awards at the Ivy, Manchester on Thursday 16th September.
Lucy Bisset, Director of Robert Walters, said: “We saw finance vacancies in the North West spike by 45% in the first half of the year, including areas such as FP&A and transformation, highlighting the key role finance professionals continue to play in navigating the challenges businesses have faced due to the pandemic.
“Manchester has also further cemented its status as one of Europe’s leading shared service centre (SSC) locations, with an increasing number of businesses northshoring their operations due to the city’s connectivity and outstanding talent in finance.”
She added: “It’s a pleasure to reopen the awards after a difficult year for finance teams across the region, and to celebrate those committed individuals and teams that have had to adapt to such volatile market conditions. We look forward to reconnecting the North West finance community once again at the awards ceremony in May.”
The awards include 14 separate categories, celebrating businesses and teams of all sizes. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from each partner along with industry guests and a shortlist of finalists announced at the end of March 2022:
- Finance Director of the Year (over £200m turnover)
- Finance Director of the Year (£50m – £200m turnover)
- Finance Director of the Year (less than £50m turnover)
- Financial Controller of the Year
- Finance Business Partner of the Year
- Finance Team of the Year – Large (20+ people)
- Finance Team of the Year – Medium (6-19 people)
- Finance Team of the Year – Small (5 people or less)
- Shared Service Centre of the Year
- Business Resilience & Change Award
- CSR Excellence Award
- Rising Star of the Year – Qualified
- Rising Star of the Year – Non/Part-Qualified
- Finance Team Player
