Developer launches public consultation for Salford Quays community scheme

CGI of the proposed scheme

Residents and businesses in Salford Quays are invited to have their say on plans for an exciting new residential development, at two public events.

Under the proposals from Manchester-based CERT property, a 1980s low-rise office block would be replaced by a striking 30-storey tower containing 261 intelligently-designed studios, 126 one-and two-bedroomed apartments, and 15 penthouse apartments with views across Salford Quays.

The community living concept is focused around residents having their own separate contemporary, design-led, living space while sharing extensive communal facilities and the implementation of tech to create a thriving community environment, with a range of amenities on offer within the building.

All units would be available to rent, with all bills included, while residents benefit from a wide range of services, including a boutique café and lounge, cycle storage, and repair workshop, healthy eating restaurant, fitness and yoga studios, co-working space, gaming and cinema rooms, an auditorium for talks and events, and a roof terrace with sustainable allotment.

Crowning the development would be a new world class destination – Salford’s first and only 30th floor sky bar – boasting unrivalled vistas across The Quays and MediaCity, and open to both residents and the wider public.

Howard Lord, CERT managing director, said: “We’re proposing a new way of living, not just a place to live but an entire lifestyle choice. Our community living concept is designed to recreate the neighbourhood community spirit of old, in a contemporary context.

“Our plans include a vast and varied mix of amenity spaces, designed to help our tenants to meet like-minded people and build commonality through shared experiences and interests. We intend to introduce an environment that joins up living, working and socialising all under one roof.”

A virtual consultation event will take place on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 between 6pm and 7pm on Zoom, which can be accessed by visiting zoom.us/join and entering the Webinar ID: 810 4134 0069.

There will also be a public drop in event at offices 27-29 on the third floor of HQ Building, Clippers Quay, on Thursday, November 4, between 4pm and 7pm.

At both events, the project team will be on hand to explain the plans and answer any questions. A consultation website has also been launched at clippersquayconsultation.com where more information can be found.

The project team includes DOMIS Construction, OMI Architects, Layer Studio, Renaissance, Design Fire Consultants, Artal, Enabl, Ridge and SEC Newgate.
