Cllr John Mullen cutting the red ribbon to open Bridgewater Manor

New Care, one of the UK’s fastest growing care home developers, has opened the doors to a ‘new generation’ £15m care home in Worsley.

Located on Walkden Road, on the site of the former Cock pub and hotel, the new care facility features 71 fully furnished bedrooms, each with a private en suite wet room, plus a selection of communal lounges, dining rooms and quiet reading rooms.  It also has a nail bar, hairdresser, landscaped gardens and outdoor terraces to the first floor.

Bridgewater Manor was officially opened by Salford’s Ceremonial Mayor, Cllr John Mullen.

He said: “The motto of the city is ‘Salus Populi Suprema Lex’ which translates to ‘the welfare of the people is the highest law’ and after visiting Bridgewater Manor and meeting the New Care team, I can honestly say that this new care home will ensure the welfare of its residents will be its highest law too.

“The facility is stunning, but practical, and the attention to detail is impressive.  The team is professional, dedicated and passionate and the residents will no doubt enjoy a very high quality of care at Bridgewater Manor.”

Dominic Kay, Chairman for New Care, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Cllr John Mullen to Bridgewater Manor to cut the red ribbon and officially declare the facility open.  He enjoyed a preview tour of the care home and afterwards, spent time talking to the team, offering kind words, which was very much appreciated.”

Bridgewater Manor is New Care’s ninth care facility in the UK, and the first in Salford.  The care home will create approximately 100 jobs in multiple disciplines, from carers and nurses to hospitality, housekeeping, activities, maintenance and chefs.

Brand, digital and marketing specialist, WilsonCooke, has launched a new venture helping business owners to streamline their digital operations.

With many small businesses paying high costs in programmes and services to manage departments such as HR and finance, Gain Line works to create personalised versions of these programmes.

Since launching, GAIN LINE has already helped a range of various sectors upgrade systems, as a result increasing efficiencies by more than 50% on average, said the firm.

The team behind GAIN LINE will be driven by Mark Law, group managing director of WilsonCooke/Holdings, Jonathan Ward, commercial director who joined the company from CTI Digital, and Kevin Williams, technical director, who has been with WilsonCooke for more than 15 years.

Mark said: “This venture has been in the making for more than a year, and we are very excited to finally start working with our clients.

“As growing businesses who are often at a pre-digital transformational stage, SMEs need to have the same access to innovative processes that larger organisations do, but often lack the capital and manpower to implement this type of technology. GAIN LINE will work as an extension to the teams at these businesses to help create a digital solution that brings together all internal operations.

“We’ve already seen how these solutions have made our first customers’ working lives better, whilst demonstrating a return on investment. Our ethos is, if we can’t demonstrate the gain, we’re not doing it.”

Manchester’s Code Computerlove creates new digital platform for Lightspeed Broadband.

LightSpeed appointed the Manchester-based product studio in April, and Code has since created a digital infrastructure and strategy, alongside a new digital identity and marketing website so customers can find out more about their 1 Gigabit plan, check availability and register interest or place an order for the LightSpeed service.

Rob Jones, Managing Director at Code Computerlove, said: “The whole premise behind LightSpeed Broadband is speed of use and an excellent customer experience, which is exactly what we’ve delivered in the new digital platform.

“The bespoke user journey ensures customers can get the information they’re after with ease, whether that’s finding out if Gigabit Broadband is available in their area, signing up and purchasing broadband or managing their account.

“Through close collaboration with Cloud Jungle and Gravitai, we were able to leverage the existing SalesForce Solution through new APIs that were used in our C#, React solution.

“LightSpeed is a brilliant brand to work with, with a team that shares our ambition to put the customer at the heart of everything. We will be taking insights from this initial launch to continue to evolve the site’s capabilities and experiences.”

Keith, who is a senior associate at Bromleys, said: “I am immensely proud to become one of a select group of family law specialists on both the Resolution accredited family law panel and the Law Society’s advanced family law panel.

“Although it took a great deal of hard work to come through the assessment process, which related to my own cases and resolving complex case studies set by the Law Society, it was a very worthwhile exercise to undertake this latest accreditation.”

Michael Taylor, Managing Director at All About Food said: “Everyone at All About Food is really excited to be relocating to Manchester.

“We chose Fourways because it is such a beautiful and unique building and so full of character and because of the recent refurbishment the fact that it had all of the latest services and amenities we were looking for. In short it was the stand out building we saw when looking. The location in the Northern Quarter is also brilliant, being close to Piccadilly station and surrounded with bars, coffee shops and restaurants. We can’t wait for the fit out to take place so we can move in and be part of Manchester.”

Venturi Cardiology has expanded its clinic to offer a new respiratory service.

The independent heart health clinic, which opened in Warrington five months ago, has launched the new respiratory service to help people who have had Covid.

It has partnered with expert respiratory consultants Dr Sarah Sibley and Dr Dennis Wat to extend the clinic’s offering.

Consultations and a range of diagnostic packages for those with respiratory conditions are now available.

The packages include post-Covid recovery, a respiratory health check and a specialist chest infections package supporting those with acute or recurring chest infections.

New research has revealed that over two million people in the UK are suffering from long-Covid and, with winter on the way and pressures on the NHS increasing, the numbers of patients with respiratory conditions are rising all the time.

The clinic has been kitted out with state-of-the art equipment, including a GE Rev CT scanner, which checks for heart disease and blockages in the arteries as well as CT scans of the chest for those with breathing difficulties or respiratory illnesses. This imaging technology is often used when other methods of diagnosis have been inconclusive.

Dr Scott Murray, one of Venturi’s founders and clinical director said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Dr Sarah Sibley and Dr Dennis Wat to the Venturi team. They bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise in respiratory medicine, including specialist areas such as COPD, asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease.

“We know there are so many people out there suffering with long-Covid and post-Covid symptoms and other respiratory conditions and we want to give them the same easy and rapid access to expert advice and diagnostics that we give to our cardiac patients.

“We are also aware that those who have had long Covid or indeed, other acute breathing related illnesses, have concerns about possible damage and scarring to their heart. Having respiratory and cardiology consultants all under one roof, expanding our suite of services, is a natural fit for our growing clinic.”

Sporting legends Martin Johnson, Robbie Fowler and John Barnes recently underwent cutting edge heart screening tests at Venturi to raise awareness of World Heart Day.
