Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA Moore and Smalley is planning for future growth and recruitment after more than doubling the size of its Manchester office.

The firm has taken an additional 2,225 sq ft of space at its 80 Mosley Street offices opposite St Peter’s Square.

It brings the total office footprint for the firm in Manchester to almost 4,000 sq ft, providing it with the capacity to double staff numbers from 35 to 70.

The move comes just three months after the firm also expanded its Liverpool office to accommodate growth in its team there.

The expansion of both offices has been driven by growth in the firm’s corporate finance, tax and audit teams.

Graham Gordon, managing partner at MHA Moore and Smalley, said: “It’s vital we create the environments where our staff can flourish and provide the best possible support for our clients.

“As well as giving us extra capacity for our growing team, this investment in our Manchester office provide us with an ultra modern space that reflects post-pandemic working practices as it features collaboration spaces and meeting rooms.”

He added: “Our corporate finance team has grown significantly since we first opened our Manchester office in 2019. We’ve also brought in leading tax specialists and we’re seeing more audit work, too, including an increase in complex audits. We have further recruitment planned in the coming months.”

As well as its Manchester and Liverpool offices, MHA Moore and Smalley has six further offices across Lancashire and Cumbria.

Over the past year, MHA Moore and Smalley has taken on an additional 75 staff, taking the total number of people employed by the firm to 350.
