£2.1m deal to convert South Manchester site to lab space and offices

Unit D, Cheadle Royal Business Park

A South Manchester office space has changed hands in a £2.1m deal for conversion to laboratory spaces and offices.

Savills, on behalf of a private client, completed the sale of the 10,000 sq ft Unit D at Cheadle Royal Business Park to SEDA Pharmaceutical Development Services.

Cheadle Royal is set on a 65 acre site and is a major business park just 12 minutes from Manchester Airport.

It is home to a number of national and international headquarters, providing office accommodation for start-ups through to major established brands.

Daniel Barnes, associate director in the office agency team at Savills Manchester, said: “SEDA’s requirement arrived at a time when there were limited long leasehold opportunities to purchase in South Manchester.

“The location of Cheadle Royal worked well for them and it was great to introduce a new owner occupier to the business park off market and swiftly.

“The life sciences market in the UK continues to grow at pace and the speed of this deal is testament to the fast growing nature of that sector.”
