Sports nutrition brand recognised for exemplary standards

A sports nutrition business has won a series of quality audits at its Liverpool-based R&D, manufacturing and distribution site.

Applied Nutrition is behind a range of sports nutrition products aimed at professional athletes in a range of sports, including Premiership football, boxing, cycling, triathlon, and rugby.

The firm also serves sports enthusiasts looking to achieve maximum performance in training and competition.

The company has renewed its British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification and achieved ‘AA’ status, the highest possible achievement for food manufacturers.

Further international standards have also been achieved following separate audits in recent weeks that have seen the company renew its Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 22000 certifications.

Applied Nutrition technical manager, Gareth Powell, said: “Our recent audits scrutinised everything, from goods-in to despatch, artwork, finished products, and working conditions.

“The BRC standard provides a framework for the management of our total facility, HACCP plan, and product and process control measures that safeguards product quality, safety and legality. Ultimately, we want to ensure that our loyal consumers get the best out of every Applied Nutrition product that they purchase.”

Chief operating officer, Steve Granite, said: “The business has remained true to its goal of superior product quality and customer trust, something that the senior management has an unwavering commitment to.”
