Four star Hotel Brooklyn exchanges hands in £24m deal

Hotel Brooklyn

New-York themed Hotel Brooklyn has been sold to a Singapore investment firm in a £24m deal.

The four-star hotel in Manchester city centre was sold by Roundapple Hotel Partners to CDL HREIT Investments (II) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDL Hospitality Real Estate Investment Trust (H-REIT).

The acquisition of the property allows CDLHT, which also owns Salford’s Lowry Hotel, to “further penetrate the lifestyle hotel market.”

The company said: “With its growing stable of lifestyle hotels, CDLHT’s hotel portfolio will be augmented with better alignment with prevailing trends in the global market of strong consumer appetite for such hotels.”

The 189-room hotel opened its doors for the first time in February 2020 and includes two food and beverage outlets, three meeting rooms as well as a casino with a restaurant and bar.

The latest exchange comes after the hotel was sold to a private seller in May last year.

It was sold in an off-market deal by Marshall CDP, represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Hospitality team.

The hotel was named in the top 20 ‘hottest new hotels’ in the world for 2021 at the Traveller’s Choice Best of the Best awards.
