Doors specialist relocates NW office to support growth plans

Rhino Doors in Preston

Rhino Doors, which makes high-performance engineered doors, has moved its North West operations from Burscough to a new centre in Preston.

The relocation is aimed at supporting its continued growth.

Rhino was founded in 1983 and its doors serve to protect people and assets, particularly in the defence, transport and critical infrastructure sectors.

Its main manufacturing site, in Port Talbot, South Wales, is unaffected by the Lancashire relocation.

Work includes projects for Transport for London and a key North American rail tunnel scheme.

The move to better premises is linked to the success of the wider Rhino Engineering Group, including its specialist subsidiaries focusing on door installation and the production of explosion relief products for the global hydrogen market.

The Preston base will support Rhino office staff, as well as serving as the firm’s first regional depot for its aftersales service, Rhino Site Systems Limited, which was launched in summer 2021.

It will also provide overflow manufacturing capacity in support of the group’s broader growth plans.

Group managing director, Stuart Lawrence, said: “With significant growth seen across the company in 2021, we’re pleased to have secured new premises to facilitate our continued growth.

“Our previous office location, in Burscough, was home to the North West branch for five years and was a great base to allow us to grow.

“But now, at an exciting time in the company’s history, we’re looking forward to new ventures and putting plans in place for our continued and sustainable growth through the years to come.”
