Law firm to stage key conference on social mobility

Manchester law firm Squire Patton Boggs has organised a Social Mobility Conference, with Manchester Law Society.
The event, on March 17, is aimed at HR, diversity and inclusion officers, training partners and senior management.
The programme starts with a 12.30pm lunch and runs until 7pm, featuring an array of speakers including a keynote address by Helen Mahy, chair of The Renewables Infrastructure Group and formerly General Counsel of National Grid.
Rob Elvin, the Manchester office managing partner at Squire Patton Boggs and Fran Eccles-Bech, chief executive of Manchester Law Society will also address the event, which features a networking opportunity at the close.
The firm said its half-day conference will demonstrate the importance of improving the key area of social mobility.
It will also give practical information on how to implement a social mobility strategy in a firm, and examples of the benefits to the business, as well as individuals.
Squire Patton Boggs said: “We all have to come together collectively and strive for a more equal future for all.
“Businesses and leaders have a key role to play in helping to create social mobility and we need to stand up and take action to create a more socioeconomic and ethnically diverse workplace.”
