Mexican restaurant brand, Tortilla, will open a new restaurant, its 48th, in Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, Ellesmere Port, on April 1.

The business, billed as the UK’s largest fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand, will create 30 jobs with the opening, including front of house, kitchen and management roles, headed by general manager Chloe Merchant.

Tortilla, based at Unit 61 Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Centre, will also offer takeaway and delivery options for its California-style menu.

Jason Thomas, chief operations officer of Tortilla, said: “We can’t wait to introduce our brand to Cheshire Oaks with our grand opening.

“We have a fantastic location in the outlet which will provide locals and visitors to the centre with a convenient and delicious spot for lunch or dinner after a spot of shopping. We look forward to welcoming plenty of happy customers in store and playing our part in this thriving community.”

Tortilla is based in London and employs more than 1,000 staff.

It was founded in October 2007 by Brandon and Jen Stephens.

Tortilla operates more than 50 eat in and take away locations across the UK and through nationwide partnerships with Deliveroo, SSP Group and Compass Group UK & Ireland.

Internationally, Tortilla operates in the Middle East, with 10 stores in Dubai and Saudi Arabia through an exclusive franchise partnership.

In 2020, the brand served more than 4.4 million customers.
