Liverpool law-tech services group, Spirant, has been awarded £9.5m-worth of investment to support its continued growth, particularly its international expansion.

The funding is from the Manchester office of alternative lender BOOST&Co.

Spirant is working on developing its outsourcing strategy and legal-tech offering.

The business provides multi-service legal, technology and medical services that support clients across the UK, USA, and Australia.

In the 10 years since its formation it has grown from a single law firm to now including operational outsourcing business Novus Claim Solutions and tech support business Zeus Tech Solutions.

BOOST&Co focuses on innovative, fast-growing UK SMEs and offers flexible term loans covering a wide range of sectors, with a strong track record in technology, media and telecommunications (TMT).

It has funded more than £500m across more than 130 deals to date and provided close to £200m under the Government’s CBILS initiative to support SMEs during COVID-19.

Oliver Reece, the principal at BOOST&Co who led this deal, said: “Over the past decade Spirant Group has perfected its business model and is now rolling out the services and legal tech it developed through this period, to other firms around the world.

“Expansion into new territories and broadening of the service offering in the UK is exactly the kind of growth that BOOST&Co is proud to support.”

Simon Gibson, CEO at Spirant Group, said: “The funding from BOOST&Co has enabled us to take active steps to push the international expansion of our group.

“As we celebrate 10 years in operation, we’re grateful to the team at BOOST&Co for working closely with us, listening to our needs and assisting us in achieving our next stage of growth.”
