Transport group expands fleet and reach with latest acquisition

Preston-based transport group, W H Bowker, has acquired a Rochdale logistics businesses, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal for James Nuttall (Transport) includes its commercial MOT testing centre, Queensway Commercials, and bolsters Bowker’s fleet by adding 48 commercial vehicles.

Jane Nuttall, speaking on behalf of the Nuttall family, said: “When we initially engaged with Bowker, it became very clear they shared the same values, culture and philosophy as ourselves.”

W H Bowker specialises in chemical, pharmaceutical, and food grade logistics.

The acquisition means that Bowker’s UK and European fleet now comprises more than 225 vehicles and 450 trailers, together with in excess of 1.2 million sq ft of warehousing across 10 strategically placed locations within the UK.
