Work starts on scheme to develop 71 new homes

Plans for the Mosley development

Seventy one new homes will be built in Mosley, Greater Manchester, after Nottingham-based builder Ashberry Homes acquired four acres of land on Mosley Common Road.

The scheme has been named The Depot, after the old bus station that previously occupied the land.

Ashberry will provide a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties. Construction has already started on site and the housebuilder plans to open show homes in the summer.

Hollie Reynolds, Ashberry sales director, said: “Demand for houses in this area of Greater Manchester is particularly high, with Worsley close by and both Manchester city centre and Wigan town centre just 30 minutes’ drive away.

“We anticipate a huge level of enquiries.”

Ashberry Homes has picked experienced sales advisor Cath Keymer for The Depot.

As part of the planning process, Ashberry has committed to a financial contribution of £393,770 to the locality, including a £12,500 highways contribution and travel plan, £39,547 towards public open space, £73,698 for a play area and £268,025 towards education.
