Second new route for Liverpool announced by easyJet

The Greek island of Kos

Low cost carrier easyJet has announced a second new route for Liverpool.

Earlier this week TheBusinessDesk.com revealed news of a service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Belfast City, starting on July 1.

Today (April 28), the airline has unveiled another new route for the city, to Kos, in Greece.

Flights to Kos are scheduled to launch on July 3, 2022, with weekly departures on Sundays.

The Belfast flights will operate six days of the week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, initially, before increasing to a seven-day-a-week service.

The new routes are in addition to the 24 previously announced for the peak summer season.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are proud to be the largest airline in the UK and remain dedicated to offering low fares and convenient connections and we can’t wait to welcome more customers back on board.”

Paul Winfield, director of aviation development for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: “This will be easyJet’s second new Greek holiday destination from Liverpool for this summer following the addition of new flights to Heraklion from here and we expect this to be a popular destination with passengers from across the region.

“Flights serving Greek holiday resorts represent a strong market opportunity for easyJet with the region’s travellers.”
