New speaker confirmed for Northern Leadership Awards

With only weeks to go until the inaugural Northern Leadership Conference and the 2022 Northern Leadership Awards, is pleased to confirm a new speaker for the event, Simon Theakston DL, joint managing director of Yorkshire brewery, T&R Theakston.

Theakston is the great-grandson of Robert Theakston, the brewery’s original founder, who established Theakston almost 200 years ago. From its base  in Masham, North Yorkshire, the company is one of the oldest and largest family-controlled breweries in the UK and operates both nationally and internationally.

Simon will share his approach to leadership and how he has dealt with the challenges and opportunities the business has had.

He will be joined at the half day conference which precedes the awards on at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on 25 May by Sir Roger Marsh OBE DL, chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and NP11 as well as former Northern Leadership Award winners and representatives from this year’s sponsors including Mark Haywood, partner at CMS; Laura Bouttell, MD at Quarterdeck and Andy Wood, head of ethics and managing partner for Yorkshire and the North East at Grant Thornton.

The event will see speakers share how they’ve led through times of change, growth and offer advice. Attendees will also take part in a structured discussions on the topic of creating a culture for growth.
