Film services group signs five-year deal for new Birchwood HQ

Rupert Wakefield with Imran Younus of Prime Property

Buddha Group has taken new offices in Birchwood to act as its head office.

The firm, which hires equipment to film, TV and large events and has recently worked on the likes of Peaky Blinders, the new Batman movie and Indiana Jones, has leased the whole of 11A Olympic Park, which totals more than 4,000 sq ft, for a straight five-year term.

The new head office will house the company’s hire, finance, training and operations teams along with senior management to support the main depot operations just a mile away.

Buddha Group said the lease has been confirmed with asset manager Prime Property Consultancy, which, itself, used to occupy the premises prior to a relocation to Manchester in 2020.

Imran Younus, commercial director of Prime Property, welcomed Buddha Group and said: “We look forward to seeing them grow their business in the North West and around the UK over the coming years.”

Rupert Wakefield, MD of Buddha Group, said: “We are seeing massive growth in the film and TV sectors within the North of England at the moment and Warrington is such a great central location for us to service that demand.

“Olympic Park is geographically perfect for what we do right now and it also helps that it’s just a mile from our main depot.

“With large events now returning to the diary we are busier than ever so it’s been great to secure these additional premises with the help of Richard and Imran so quickly.”

Richard Wharton, of letting agents JLL, who represented Prime Property, said: “Olympic Park has performed well over the years and the wider Birchwood market is proving extremely resilient in the post-COVID world.

“The unrivalled motorway access and on-site amenity offer is continuing to attract interest from businesses throughout the region.”

BE Group acted as joint letting agent on behalf of Prime Property. Andrew Knight of Kuits Solicitors acted for the landlord on the lease transaction.
