Caddick appointed to deliver £11.4m energy-efficient apartment block

Kiwi Street plans

The North West team of Caddick Construction has been appointed by The Guinness Partnership to deliver an eight-storey, 63-apartment development in Salford.

Situated on Kiwi Street, the social housing scheme will see 47 one-bedroomed and 16 two-bedroomed energy-efficient homes, with car and cycle parking on the 0.8 acre Cherry Tree Court site, where the former tower block was recently demolished.

As well as remediation, external works, service infrastructure, roads and drainage, Caddick Construction will create a communal garden as part of the landscaping proposals.

Peter Carroll, project manager at Caddick Construction, said: “We are looking forward to using the team’s extensive experience to deliver this energy-efficient apartment scheme at Kiwi Street.

“This exciting project will replace a former 1960s tower block with a far more sustainable, attractive and high quality development.”

As part of the development, Caddick Construction will create jobs, work placements and training and development opportunities though apprenticeships and traineeships.

Angela Garrard, director of development (North) at The Guinness Partnership, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Caddick Construction on the redevelopment of our site in Salford.

“Now demolition of the former tower block is complete we look forward to commencing this build which will provide much needed high quality homes for social rent to the area.”

The development is set to complete in early 2024. It was designed by Arcus Consulting.
