Property group swoops for eighth student accommodation block with latest deal

A Manchester property group has completed the acquisition of a student accommodation unit in Liverpool, for an undisclosed sum.

MCR Property Group has acquired Haigh Court, from Nido Student.

The acquisition comprises a converted city centre building over four floors that provides 158 student en-suite bedrooms across a mixture of cluster flat accommodation and studio apartments.

Fund manager, Nick Lake, said: “Liverpool continues to outperform the economic climate and this purchase is inline with the fund’s strategy to further invest in the city of Liverpool and in student accommodation generally.

“Haigh Court, Liverpool is a perfect fit for our in-house asset management team and 25 years’ experience in owning and managing student accommodation.”

The acquisition of Haigh Court marks the eighth acquisition of 2022 by MCR Property Group as the company continues to diversify its real estate portfolio.
