More than 6,500 sq ft of space in Manchester’s redeveloped ABC Buildings has been taken by two new tenants.

Property consultants OBI has advised financial advisory tech firm OpenMoney and technology firm Orka to relocate to the site.

OpenMoney has taken 2,350 sq ft of CAT A space on Level 3 and Orka has taken 4,200 sq ft of space on Level 6 and Level 6M, which have been linked together to form a duplex with private roof garden.

The site, located on Quay Street, on the edge of Manchester’s technology, media and creative district, Enterprise City, offers a friendly, creative office which is also on the cusp of the Spinningfields neighbourhood. Surrounding amenities include Barry’s Bootcamp, Everyman Cinema, The Ivy, 20 Stories and a number of transport links.

Clair Staines, group people director at OpenMoney, said: “Our Manchester team have been extremely excited to be moving to one of the most well-connected office buildings right in the heart of the Enterprise City district.

“The quality of our new Level 3 office and the amenities on our doorstep are unrivalled and will be instrumental in encouraging our team to return to the office.”

Tom Pickersgill, co-founder and CEO at Orka, said: “The ABC Buildings was the ideal choice for our new home as it met our requirements for a modern and collaborative workspace, that will also aid us in attracting the very best talent in Manchester.”

Andrew Cowell, transactions and asset management at OBI, said: “ABC is a unique development located right in the heart of the city.

“These two lettings highlight the growing popularity of fully fitted and furnished office suites with high levels of amenity. ABC is a workplace of the future that provides occupiers access to communal breakout space, roof gardens, events, amenity and wellbeing space, which is valued by occupiers, and the speed in which the space has let is testament to how ABC has differentiated itself within the market.”

The members lounge at Level 3 has just been launched which provides a range of private studios and access to a central breakout area and collaboration space. This floor also has direct links to the Solar Dome and roof garden.

Anthony Powell, managing director at All Work & Social, said: “Welcoming OpenMoney and Orka Group to the tech, media, and creative community we have created at the ABC Buildings is a great prospect.

“Both businesses are on exciting growth journeys, and we hope to help them make ABC their home, using it as a springboard for future success. Being more than a workspace, the amenities at ABC are created to enhance the experience for businesses and their teams, acting as a catalyst for creativity and conversation.”
