Heartbreak in Lancashire at passing of Jake Cocker

Jack Cocker

Jake Cocker, one of the founders of Lancaster-based creative agency Fat Media and a well loved character in the Lancashire digital sector has passed away suddenly.

A statement by Digital Lancashire said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jake Cocker. Many know Jake as one of the founders of Fat Media Limited, and later of OnDemand Projects. Jake was a real champion of the digital agenda in Lancashire and most recently, alongside his role at Lancashire Women, was an active member and contributor to the Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership. Our thoughts are with Jake’s family and many friends across the region.”

Michael Gibson, co-founder of Fat Media, said on a Facebook tribute: “Can’t stop thinking about him. Loads of great tributes to him, but rather he was here to read them.”

Guy Cookson-Rabouhi from Hotfoot Design said: “Jake went on to become MD of OnDemand Projects and most recently joined the charity Lancashire Women. He had a vast knowledge of digital, and cared deeply about social justice, so it was inevitable he would combine the two.

“Many of us became great friends with Jake and discovered not only what hilarious fun he was on a night out, but also how kind and thoughtful he could be when any of us were in need of advice.”
