musicMagpie has agreed a partnership that will see its products listed on the online marketplace of global retail giant Walmart.

Walmart.com has 120m monthly visitors and lays claim to being one of the fastest growing eCommerce platforms in the United States.

musicMagpie’s American brand, decluttr, now has its preowned CDs, DVDs and video games for sale on the website.

Steve Oliver, chief executive of musicMagpie, said: “This is an exciting new sales channel for us as we continue to grow our decluttr brand in the US and partnering with such an iconic household name will continue to foster trust not only in decluttr, but also in refurbished products as a category.”

Walmart recently announced the launch of Walmart Restored, a programme created to help customers find refurbished electronic products on Walmart.com. decluttr’s refurbished phones, iPads, MacBooks and consoles will shortly be added to this programme.

“Walmart’s mission to provide high quality items at low prices aligns with our own, and the newly launched Walmart Restored programme mirrors our commitment to the circular economy and sustainability,” added Oliver.

Stockport-based musicMagpie has been a pioneer in the circular economy since it was founded in 2007. The company floated in April 2021, valued at £208m, but had a difficult 2022 and its share price is now trading 85% below its IPO price.
