Accountancy firm to recruit record 60 trainees in its North West offices
Accountancy and business advisory firm, MHA Moore and Smalley, will create 60 trainee positions in the region this year as part of its plans to develop a “new generation of talent”.
The firm will recruit a mix of university, college and sixth form graduates to positions within its tax, audit and advisory teams.
The recruits will work across the firm’s North West offices, starting in September, and will study towards professional qualifications while being mentored by experienced colleagues. It will be a record intake for the firm which also took on 37 new trainees in 2022.
Graham Gordon, managing partner for MHA Moore and Smalley, said: “To get the talent our clients are going to need in the years ahead will require us to recruit and train people at all levels of the firm.
“Investing in our trainee programme is particularly important for us as it allows us to continually refresh the firm with new skills and become more resilient to future challenges.”
He added: “We have expanded our trainee programme significantly in the last few years and this is allowing us to develop a new generation of talent. We want trainees to develop great futures with us where there are always growth opportunities and clear paths for career progression.”
HR director, Rebecca Coombes, said: “As well as their technical ability, we’re looking for people that personify our firm’s values, who can offer outstanding client service, and also help us create positive outcomes for our communities.”
A recruitment process for the new trainee positions is under way.
MHA Moore and Smalley is part of MHA, a UK-wide network of independent accountants and business advisers with 30 offices nationwide. MHA collectively employs 106 partners, 1,152 staff and has a combined turnover of £124m.
