Sports nutrition firm partners with elite athlete Eilish McColgan
Sports nutrition firm, Science in Sport (SiS), has linked up with star athlete, Eilish McColgan, ahead of her London Marathon debut and 2024 Olympic Games preparations.
The business, which operates a major logistics hub in Blackburn, has signed a partnership with three-time Olympian, Commonwealth 10,000m champion and multiple British and European record holder McColgan.
McColgan has competed for Great Britain in the last three Olympics and in a stellar 2022 she broke the British 5K, 10K and half marathon records on the road, also winning gold in the Commonwealth Games 10,000m in Birmingham. She holds the European records for 10K and 10 miles. In her first track race of 2023 McColgan broke Paula Radcliffe’s 2002 British 10,000m record.
Science in Sport will support the Scotswoman in her training and racing with its science-proven endurance nutrition products, enabling her to optimise her fuelling, hydration and recovery so that she performs at her peak as she faces her greatest challenges in what promises to be a career-defining year.
SiS is the official sports nutrition partner to more than 320 elite athletes and professional sports teams including the INEOS Grenadiers cycling team, Tottenham Hotspur FC and the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team.
Recently it signed a multi-year partnership with women’s marathon world champion Gotytom Gebreslase and the Elite Running Team, positioning itself as the number-one brand in endurance running.
Not only will McColgan have access to – and exclusively fuel with – Science in Sport’s complete endurance nutrition range, but she will also take part in SiS’s research studies to inform practice and performance for the brand’s next generation of custom-made products.
The first race McColgan will run in with SiS’s logo on her vest is the Berlin Half Marathon on April 2, where she will aim to break her own British record and PB of 66:26. Next, in the iconic London Marathon on April 23, she hopes to emulate her mother and coach, Liz McColgan, who won in 1996.
Eilish McColgan will share her journey with SiS across her social media channels, where she has a large, engaged and informed following.
