Affordable housing deal for St Helens following land acquisition
Almost 50 new energy-efficient homes will be built in St Helens after a deal for a 228 acre site on Manor Street.
Your Housing Group has completed the land acquisition and has appointed Westchurch Homes to build the scheme, delivering 46 affordable homes.
The properties will be a mix of eight maisonettes and 38 homes, with one-, two-, three- and four-bed houses, all available for affordable housing tenures.
Your Housing says the plans will create an attractive housing development that will breathe new life into the site, improving the aesthetics of the local area, and providing much needed energy-efficient homes for local people and families.

The brownfield site was a former industrial premises of Airtec Filtration, it had been subject to fire damage, leaving the building severely compromised.
Oliver Chan, business development manager at Westchurch Homes, said: “Westchurch are delighted to have entered into our second contract with Your Housing Group to deliver 46 affordable homes to St Helens.
“The site at Manor Street has been in desperate need of redevelopment for a number of years having been frequently fly tipped and more recently fire damaged.”
The development is being supported with grant funding from Homes England through Your Housing Group’s strategic partnership agreement, and £690,000 from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority through its brownfield fund.
