Rowlinson offloads timber distribution business

Rowlinson Group, a Nantwich-based fourth-generation family business founded in 1926, has offloaded its timber import and distribution business.
Rowlinson Timber has been sold to UK timber agent Gill & Robinson, part of the Kullik Group.
This strategic move allows Rowlinson Group to focus on the growth and expansion of its existing range of services, particularly in the manufacture, supply, and distribution of packaging and garden products.
As part of the acquisition the Rowlinson Timber team, led by Richard Smith, will join Gill & Robinson and will continue to supply existing Rowlinson customers through the established operations at the Port of Sheerness, Kent.
Alistair Sharman, vice chairman at Rowlinson Group, said: “Gill & Robinson and Rowlinson Timber have over 200 years combined experience in the industry and Rowlinson look forward to supporting Gill & Robinson in their continued success building on this heritage.”
Gorvins Solicitors represented Rowlinson.
Rowan Uren, senior associate at Gorvins who led the transaction, said, “Our long-standing relationship with the Rowlinson Group is a testament to the trust and confidence that Rowlinson has placed in our legal expertise. As a family business with a long and successful history we are proud to have facilitated a deal that supports the strategic goals of the group for the future.”
