New 55-room hotel opens in time for Eurovision visitor influx

A new 55-room five-storey hotel has opened in property group Grosvenor’s Liverpool One retail centre.
School Lane Hotel opens in the week the city is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest, on behalf of last year’s winner Ukraine, with thousands of visitors heading for the event.
Located in the historic 1850s Russell Building and operated by multi-award-winning Hope Street Hotel, the 17,500 sq ft space has been sensitively restored.
Positioned on the corner of School Lane and Peter’s Lane, School Lane Hotel is located at the heart of Liverpool One, providing guests central access to both the city and transport links.
All 55 rooms boast their original sash windows and three metre-high ceilings, and come furnished with bespoke oak furniture, super-king beds, rain-dance showers and Temple Spa products. The sophisticated reception and lounge area features an impressive glass installation commissioned by acclaimed glass artist Katerina Christou.
Rob Deacon, senior asset manager at Grosvenor, said: “We are hugely excited to see School Lane Hotel open at Liverpool One, just in time for Eurovision with footfall set to increase at the destination by 25% during this time.
“The city is going from strength to strength in its position as a leading tourist hotspot, and curating a well-rounded, varied tenant mix is crucial. The arrival of a high quality, independent hospitality operators like School Lane Hotel only adds to this, and we look forward to seeing them thrive in this prime city centre location.”
