Corporate law firm appoints new managing partner for Manchester office

Law firm Fieldfisher has appointed corporate finance partner David Bowcock to be the new office managing partner in Manchester. 

Bowcock said his main priority will be to “spread the word” and continue the growth of the firm, which has doubled turnover in the past six years. 

Bowcock joined Fieldfisher as head of Corporate in 2018, having previously spent 16 years at Eversheds and 9 years at Brabners and succeeds commercial litigator Ian Austin as office managing partner. 

Fieldfisher has been a full service firm in Manchester since 2014 and has grown significantly, with now 26 partners and over 130 legal staff in total. As a global firm it has offices in 26 cities in 11 countries.

Based at No.1 Spinningfields, it offers a wide breadth of services across the North West, the UK and internationally including corporate, real estate and dispute resolution, as well as regulatory, employment, banking and insolvency and medical negligence, with a dedicated focus on data, privacy, IT and technology.

Its North West impact includes acting for JD Sports, Booking.com in relation to the lease of its 175,000 sq ft Manchester campus in Enterprise City, the Co-operative Group and the chair of the Manchester Arena Independent Inquiry.
