Ten projects on the agenda at Manchester planning committee

There are ten projects on the agenda at Manchester City Council’s Planning and Highways Committee next Thursday (1 June 2023).

The commercial developments of the most interest are a 20 storey Hilton hotel next to the controversial former Central Retail Park site in Ancoats which has been recommended for approval by officers after an application by Deloitte Real Estate.

Also in Ancoats, a 193 apartment and commercial block being proposed by Capital & Centric and Kamani Property Group, through agents Avison Young, is also been recommended for approval subject to assurances on affordable housing.

Officers are also minded to Approve two residential towers of 10 and 12 storeys submitted by Axis Properties in the Northern Quarter, subject to the signing of a section 106 agreement in relation to an initial off site affordable housing contribution. 

A 19 storey Grade A office building with ground floor commercial offer together with a 45 storey residential building on Bridge Street submitted by Oval Property Group.

Councillors will also consider a Lidl, a primary school and more purpose built student accommodation in different neighbourhoods.
