Shopping centre scores with Premier League champions Manchester City store opening

Manchester Arndale has announced that Premier League champions Manchester City will be moving into the former Pink unit.

The club’s new store – due to open tomorrow – will cater for its army of fans across the city offering merchandise ranging from the team kits, including the recently release 2023/24 home kit, and training apparel, to hats, scarfs, and memorabilia.

To further celebrate the opening and recent league title win, the Premier League trophy will be on display in the store from 9am on Friday until 6pm on Sunday, allowing fans to have their photo taken with the iconic silverware after last weekend’s victory.

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Football is intrinsic to Manchester’s unique identity, and we are delighted to welcome the Premier League champions to the centre. The arrival of Manchester City demonstrates our commitment to delivering a vibrant retail destination that chimes with local shoppers as well as visitors from further afield who are looking to immerse themselves in the city’s culture. With such a significant name joining the centre it’s clear there is continued demand for well-placed retail units, and we are delighted to see confidence in Manchester Arndale’s long-term performance.”

Serena Gosling, director of integrated fan experience and retail and licensing at Manchester City, said: “It is hugely exciting for us to launch our brand new City Store in Manchester Arndale – another important development in what has been an incredible year of retail sales for the club, and continues to strengthen. Our fans are at the heart of everything we do and we are delighted to offer more opportunities for fans to interact with the club beyond the Etihad Campus, including some engaging fan activities available in the new store. The Manchester Arndale store launch is a proud development for the club, and I’d like to thank our retail partner Stichd and its staff for their support in opening this new store. I’d also like to thank them for their commitment to helping us continue to offer a best-in-class retail service for our fans and members.”

M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents.
