Global hygiene and health company Essity, whose portfolio of brands include Cushelle, Velvet, Plenty, Bodyform and TENA, has moved its UK consumer goods office to Didsbury, Greater Manchester.

The Swedish-based company has long had a home in Manchester having previously operated from premises at Manchester Airport since 2012 and Salford Quays before that.

Around 90 staff will be based at Ocean House in the Didsbury Towers business park in roles across marketing, sales, customer marketing, customer services, demand planning, finance, logistics, communications and HR.

Regional vice president UK & EMEA, Lee Doherty, said: “We’ve been looking for a great space that facilitates easier collaboration between our teams, supports our sustainability goals, and embraces the more modern ways of working that we’ve introduced in recent years.

“We’re really pleased to have found all of that and more at Didsbury Towers and we look forward to welcoming our customers, agency partners and, most importantly, our employees and colleagues to our new home.”

Essity has sales in 150 countries with approximately 46,000 employees worldwide.

In the UK, the company has two other commercial offices supporting its medical division which produces wound care, compression, orthopaedic, and incontinence products, and its professional hygiene business which provides hygiene solutions for public washrooms and workplaces.

Essity also has six manufacturing sites in the UK including its paper mill in Trafford Park which produces Cushelle and Plenty.
