Macclesfield transport firm completes takeover after lengthy negotiations

After nine months of negotiations, Macclesfield-based I H Jordan (Transport Ltd) has completed the acquisition of construction materials haulier, Peter Holmes Haulage, in York.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, saw Bruce Greig, owner of IH Jordan, working closely with a number of key partners.

David Elliott, of EBA Chartered Accountants, David Davies, of Davies Corporate Finance, and Gary Black, at Primas Law, were all closely involved with Ashley Middleton at Close Invoice Finance advising on the financial and legal aspects of the purchase..

On the back of the acquisition, I H Jordan has also welcomed Luci Jones to the team as business development manager to support the business with its plans for further growth.

Bruce Greig said: “Peter, along with his team based in Market Weighton, has built a really solid business.

“Whilst Peter Holmes Haulage are in the construction sector, the service they provide is very different to ours and will be a fantastic addition to what we currently offer our customers.

The Peter Holmes Haulage fleet is a mix of artic truck mounted forklifts (Moffetts), drawbar cranes and flat trailers, which, coupled with Jordan Transport’s wide mix of articulated lorries to vans, with and without offload capability, means that I H Jordan Transport is a one stop shop for everything related to construction material haulage, said the firm.
