Hounaïda Lasry

Hounaïda Lasry is to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director of B+M with effect from 22 September 2023 when she will also join the Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

She is currently a Non-Executive Director at drinks giant Britvic and has over 30 years’ experience at Procter & Gamble across various sectors (Skin & Personal Care, Pet Food, Sanitary Pads, Diapers and Detergents) and geographies (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia). 

Peter Bamford, Chairman, said: “She brings strong commercial international, and strategic instincts and the benefits of experience gained in a wide variety of challenging operational roles within the highly structured and developed consumer facing disciplines of Procter and Gamble. Hounaïda will enhance the diversity of experience and skills on our Board considerably.”

Nichols plc, owners of the Vimto brand has appointed David Taylor as Interim Chief Financial Officer. 

He comes with consumer-focused public company experience, having most recently been the CFO of Churchill China plc for over 30 years.

He joined Churchill China plc in 1992 and helped lead it’s successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 1994. As CFO and Company Secretary, he was part of the senior management team and played a major part in overall strategy and operations, contributing significantly to the company’s long-term growth, development and stability.

The Company’s process for the selection of a permanent Group CFO continues and further updates will be made as appropriate.

Eva Lotta-Allan

Eva-Lotta Allan will step down as Chair of drug discovery business C4X Discovery (C4XD) after five years. Clive Dix is to become interim Executive Chair and a search will commence to find a new Chief Executive Officer.  Clive Dix, who has held a variety of leadership roles at C4XD over the past nine years, will be interim Executive Chair until a new CEO is appointed in order to ensure a smooth transition, after which point it is expected that he will assume a Non-Executive Board role.

She became Chair in July 2018 and steps down now to focus on her portfolio of other Board director roles.  She said: “Over the past five years we have built a commercially attractive pipeline and executed several value-creating deals for C4XD programmes with leading pharma companies and, after five years, I now feel it is the right time to hand the reigns to Clive as interim Executive Chair.  A smooth succession plan will allow us to bring in a new CEO with the right experience to take the Company to its next stage, thereby ensuring that C4XD continues to deliver on its vision, strategy and, most importantly new therapies to improve the lives of patients with immuno-inflammatory diseases. I have enjoyed working with the CX4D team and the Board and wish everyone at C4XD well.”

John Rigby, K3 Capital

Listed professional services  group K3 Capital has made John Rigby its new Executive Chairman, with Managing Director, Ian Symes, stepping into the vacated CEO role.

Following the recent £270m acquisition by Sun Capital Partners the pair will continue to work closely alongside each other to drive K3’s growth ambitions, whilst taking individual leads on certain facets of the Group’s core business functions.

Executive Vice Chairman Tony Ford will continue in a strategic leadership role, applying his extensive knowledge and experience as the Company continues on its growth journey.

Rigby joined K3 in 2000, becoming Managing Director in 2010 and CEO following admittance to the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market in April 2017.

He said: “We have diversified from a single business sales company based in the North West into a multi-disciplinary and multi-national B2B services group, which has now joined forces with one of the most renowned and respected partners in Sun Capital.

Ian was part of the team that led the transaction with Sun Capital and has directly supported many of our operating businesses and upscaled our HR and IT capabilities.”

Formerly Executive Vice President at Manpowergroup, Ian Symes joined K3 in early 2022, with the primary role of supporting then CEO, John Rigby, in leading the operations of the Group’s portfolio.

AIM listed Anexo Group, a specialist credit hire and legal services provider, has appointed Alexander Paiusco to the board as a Non-Executive Director. 

He’s been nominated by DBAY Advisors Limited under the terms of the shareholder agreement announced on 12 November 2020 whereby DBAY the right to appoint up to three Non-Executive Directors and Mike Branigan, who joined the Board as a nominee of DBAY in May 2022, will step down from the Board with immediate effect. Dr Julian Addison, who was appointed to the board as a DBAY nominee on 11 May 2022, will remain on the board, as will Saki Riffner, who was appointed to the Board as a DBAY nominee on 25 January 2021.

Ward Hadaway promotions

Law firm Ward Hadaway has promoted 4 people including a partner appointment within its Manchester office. The team is continuing to expand, growing by 12% in the last 12 months.

Catharine Busby is promoted to partner in the Healthcare team, a solicitor with over 16 years’ experience of civil, coronial and inquest law. 

Victoria Parker, who works in the same team, has become a managing associate. 

Fameeda Shafiq, an experienced regulatory lawyer with particular expertise in professional discipline and court of protection matters, has become a managing associate. Rachel Garcia, who acts on behalf of leading residential developers dealing with all aspects of plot sales, is now an associate.

CBRE’s Building Surveying team in Manchester has appointed Lauren Verdi Bowker as Associate Director to further develop its dilapidations service offer across the North West.

Lauren joins from Colliers where she was Senior Building Surveyor with more than five years’ experience within commercial building surveying.  Lauren brings a strong background in dilapidations and technical due diligence, development (logistics), contract administration, project management and development monitoring.

CBRE’s Northern Building Surveying team now extends to 19 Building Surveyors across the region and focuses on providing market leading Technical Due Diligence, Dilapidations and Asset Improvement advice.  Together with in house Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Geomatics, Geo Environmental, Façade and Capital Allowances they provide an unrivalled offering to a wide range of clients. 

Lauren will initially work with CBRE’s Director and Northern Dilapidations Lead Chris Mann to further develop the firm’s dilapidations service line offer and will be primarily based in the Manchester office.
