Lois Parker and Hannah Hughes

Law firm, Harrison Drury, has further strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of experienced property solicitor, Lois Parker.

Lois brings a wealth of experience to the firm having spent more than four years working for London-based property law specialists Glovers Solicitors where she worked her way up to associate solicitor after first joining as a paralegal.

Based at Harrison Drury’s office in Lancaster, Lois will support clients across the region with a wide range of commercial property services.

Hannah Hughes, partner at Harrison Drury, said: “Lois has experience in many areas of commercial property, in particular acting for clients within the hospitality and leisure sector with landlord and tenant matters and dealing with estate management matters, which will be invaluable to Harrison Drury and our clients.”

Lois, who joins in the role of solicitor, said: “My role will cover a wide range of sectors and provide me with opportunities to expand on my previous experience and further my knowledge.”

Lois’s appointment means Harrison Drury has a team of five commercial property lawyers in Lancaster and 27 across the region.

Sophie Priest

Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has appointed its first corporate social value manager in the UK – boosting its ESG and public sector expertise.

Sophie Priest joins from the consultancy firm, The Connectives, where she supported public and private organisations to identify, measure and communicate the social and environmental impact of their activities, including large-scale regeneration projects.

Priest will be based in CBRE’s Manchester office, working across its national ESG and public sector teams and reporting into Elizabeth Kingdom, associate director, corporate ESG. Priest will be responsible for embedding social value into CBRE’s internal practices and client work.

Allan Wickham, head of ESG Occupier, said: “Sophie brings great experience and a deep understanding of the importance of embedding social value and ESG into business practices.”

Martin Guest, head of public sector at CBRE, said: “We have to look beyond the financial cost of a contract, and real estate advice we provide, and really consider how we can improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the people and places impacted. Arshnoor Amershi

Pannone Corporate has promoted five people, as it continues to invest in future talent across the law firm.

Effective from July 21, Arshnoor Amershi has been promoted to associate partner in the corporate team, having joined the North West firm as a trainee solicitor in 2011. Ranked as an ‘Associate to watch’ in legal directory, Chambers and Partners UK, Arshnoor specialises in all aspects of corporate legal work, including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, and debt and equity investment.

Arshnoor is joined by Andrew Walsh who, having qualified as a solicitor in 2017, is also promoted in the corporate team, becoming a director. Andrew was instrumental in assisting Dutch client Boels Rental and French-listed company Visiativ SA continue their buy and build strategy in the UK.

Arshnoor said: “Having joined the firm as a trainee solicitor, it’s hugely satisfying to have moved up through the ranks, while playing a part in the growth of the firm. It really is an exciting time to be at Pannone, as the firm’s growth story continues to unfold.”

The five promotions include three lawyers to senior associate in the dispute resolution team – Callum Halley, who specialises in commercial disputes and who joined the firm in 2019; Gemma O’Brien, who also specialises in commercial disputes and joined Pannone in the same year; and Elizabeth Walsh, who joined the firm in 2018 and advises on contentious trust and probate disputes, as well as commercial disputes.

James Robertson

Central Networks and Technologies (Central), a Manchester-based technology specialist, has recently announced the addition of two new members to its growing team.

The recruitment of James Clarke as a technical engineer and James Robertson as a third line support engineer signifies Central’s commitment to expanding its workforce in the North and strengthening its capabilities to better serve its clients, it said.

With the arrival of James Clarke, the firm gains a skilled technical engineer who brings a wealth of experience to the table. Clinical negligence and personal injury law, firm Fletchers Group, which has offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Southport, has elected six new partners.

The new partners are Emma Semwayo (head of clinical negligence, Leeds Minton Morrill office), Guy Pomphrey (senior solicitor, Clinical Negligence, Leeds Minton Morrill office), Kirsty Thomas-Horton (serious injury solicitor and head of charities and partnerships), Victoria Marsden (head of EL/PL), Andrew Chadwick (head of costs resolution), Charlotte Mackulin (senior solicitor, serious injury unit).

Now in its second year, the Fletchers Group Partnership Programme is a core part of the firm’s people strategy, and recognises the achievements, dedication, and contribution of its high performing colleagues.

The new partners were selected through a robust peer review and multi-stage assessment process carried out by a panel comprising the group’s executive leadership team and a cross section of existing partners.

Wirral onsite decarbonisation specialist, Fleetsolve, has welcomed six new recruits as part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans.

The engineering, design, sales and support roles will help Fleetsolve further enhance its customer support, in addition to exploiting new business opportunities in renewable combined heat and power (CHP) solutions, as commercial demand for clean, resilient and futureproofed power grows.

Stephen Mulvihill joins as technical sales director, combining two decades of industry knowledge with a passion for helping organisations on their journey to net zero. Stephen is well known in the industry and will be responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships.

Doug Howarth joins the team in the role of business development manager. Doug is an industry veteran, bringing with him almost 25 years’ experience in the commercial heating sector. In his new role, Doug will take responsibility for driving opportunities within the existing client base as well as identifying new opportunities.

Callum Ryan joins as compliance manager, responsible for developing structures and procedures in line with industry standards and accreditations, as the company grows.

Sarah Meadows joins as executive assistant to the CEO. Sarah is a proven business operations leader, with a first class honours degree in business management and HR. She will play a critical role in the business by managing the day-to-day functions of the senior leadership team.

Duncan Tiley joins as a mechanical engineer, responsible for CHP installation, servicing and maintenance. Duncan has a reputation for technical excellence and has a wealth of experience in the CHP industry, alongside 23 years served in the Royal Navy as a marine engineer.

Steven Dixon joins as electrical design engineer and will be responsible for the design and development of CHP-powered solutions. Steven has both corporate and international experience in the sector, with extensive experience working with major power critical projects.
