Housing scheme set for completion after appointment of new build partner

A new construction partner has been appointed to a Cheshire housing scheme that was paused after the collapse of the previous builder.

Warrington-based Your Housing Group (YHG) has appointed Bolton’s Forshaw Construction to complete the final phase of the Manor Gardens development in Hartford.

It will lead on completing the 70 remaining homes and works around the site including highways and lighting, with work beginning imminently.

Work paused at the development, on Chester Road, in April 2023 when the previous contractor, Lane End Developments Construction, went into administration, having handed over just 38 houses.

Lorraine Donnelly, development director at Your Housing Group, said: “Your Housing Group has always remained fully committed to completing the construction and when work stopped we immediately set about the process of finding and appointing a new build partner.

“It was really important that our new partner understood the importance of completing Manor Gardens to both YHG and our residents.

“Our customers at Manor Gardens have been very understanding and we have done our best to keep them fully updated at every stage – we can’t thank them enough for their patience.”

Lyndon Forshaw, group managing director, of Forshaw Construction, said: “I’ve been impressed with the effort and speed with which YHG moved forward with the Forshaw team to ensure Manor Gardens now gets completed to the high standard it deserves. It’s a fantastic scheme which has already proven popular with buyers. We look forward to completing the development.”

Manor Gardens is a development of 108 new homes. It features a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and two-bedroom bungalows, with properties available to buy through shared ownership.

The completion of final homes at Manor Gardens is now expected to be early 2025.
