DSW bolsters its Midlands operations with new Leicester team

Daresbury-based mid-market, challenger professional services licence network, Dow Schofield Watts, has expanded its Midlands offering with a new Leicester office.

It follows news in July that it was setting up a Midlands operation with the addition of insolvency and restructuring specialist Bridgewood Financial Solutions, after backing a management buy-out of Bridgewood, which employs a team of 14 in Nottingham.

The latest expansion sees three East Midlands corporate finance professionals teaming up to launch a new advisory firm in the region.

Harry Walker, Daniel Chouciño and Fahim Kassam have come together under the banner of Dow Schofield Watts (DSW) Corporate Finance.

All three previously worked at FRP Advisory where they were colleagues for more than four years. In their new role they will cover the whole of the Midlands.

In a statement on social media, Harry Walker said: “It’s incredibly exciting to be going into business with these two after four years working together and to be joining a phenomenal network of talent at DSW.

“We’ll be continuing to deliver the down-to-earth, commercial and trusted M&A advice for which this team is known to business owners and managers across the whole Midlands and beyond. In DSW we are joining a fast-growing and well-respected team of people, who last year were ranked 11th nationally on Experian M&A league tables and are UK member of the Pandea Global M&A network.

“Our focus as a team remains on delivering M&A deals by helping people understand and execute the right opportunities for them across selling and buying businesses, management buyouts and raising debt and equity finance across the regional mid-market.”

The latest additions takes the total DSW licensees to 24, fee earners to 104 and its total offices to 10.

The new team is the first to take advantage of DSW’s Breakout Incentive, which was launched in February this year and offers teams of three or more an additional cash injection to start their own business.

James Dow, of Dow Schofield Watts, said: “Dow Schofield Watts offers an alternative to traditional accountancy firms by enabling professionals to run their own business as part of the network and we are delighted to welcome Harry and his team.

“Corporate finance is a core area of expertise for us, and the arrival of this award-winning team further strengthens our offer to clients and expands our local presence in the Midlands. It is also in line with our goal to attract new teams of high quality people into the network.”
