Accountants swoops for third acquisition in 16 months

Altrincham based MBL (Business and Tax Advisers) has been acquired by established North West practice, bennettbrooks, for an undisclosed sum.

This is the third acquisition in the past 16 months for Northwich-based bennettbrooks and supports the firm’s expansion and growth plans as well as adding a further six staff to its payroll, taking the total number of employees to 180.

Bennettbrooks was established in 1991 by Yvonne Wood and Rick Payne.

The firm offers a range of accountancy services including audit, tax planning, payroll, corporate finance, forensic accountancy and IT support from eight offices, including Northwich, Alrrincham, Chester, Cheadle, Leek, Llandudno, Maccclesfield and Southport.

Managing director, Yvonne Wood, said: “The acquisition of MBL strengthens our presence in Greater Manchester whilst supporting our growth plans.

“Altrincham is a great addition to our office network, which covers the North West and North Wales. The town has strong transport links to the centre of Manchester, a dynamic and vibrant culture and a number of professional firms have bases there.
