Lancashire engineering firm close to administration

A Lancashire engineering company, with around 60 staff, has issued a Notice of Intention to appoint administrators.
Pendle Engineering, situated in Southfield Street, Nelson, was founded in 1977 by brothers Ray and Eddie Smith.
Today it is run by two directors, Christopher Smith and Robert Smith.
It provides a wide range of work, from making a brass handrail for a pizza restuarant in top London store, Harrods, to fabrication, tube bending, structural steel and CNC machining.
Sectors range from defence work to the rail industry.
In its last results posted on Companies House in May this year, for the year ended September 30, 2022, its total exemption accounts showed cash at the bank and in hand was £21,152, down from £361,808 the previous year.
Martyn Pullin and David Willis, of FRP Advisory, are dealing with the issue.
FRP and Pendle Engineering have been contacted for comment.
