Quantity surveyor, Turner & Townsend, has relocated its North West office.

The global professional services consultancy has moved from 55 Spring Gardens to 11 York Street in Manchester, following strong growth across its infrastructure, real estate and advisory sectors in line with the firm’s long term growth strategy.

According to the business’s latest annual review, revenue across the UK has increased by 25.6% over the past year to reach £404.2m, and employee numbers have risen 17% to a total of 4,206.

The North West region of the business, which now employs more than 300 people, has also seen regional turnover soar to in excess of £35m, driving the need for a larger office space in the city centre.

Alongside a number of prominent businesses including Rolls Royce and AON, Turner & Townsend has taken 11,500 sq ft of Aviva’s 11 York Street, which is significantly larger than its previous premises.

Overbury provided the category B fit out and furniture package.

Stuart Sayer, North West strategic lead, Turner & Townsend, said: “The new office represents an opportunity to create an environment which reflects modern work practices and one in which colleagues can collaborate to support our growth ambition.

“Staying within the city centre was extremely important to us and our clients, with our teams able to effectively use public transport, or walk and cycle to and from work.

“We also hope that the size, scale, and location of our new office space will help attract new talent as well as retain existing talent, including 80 graduates and apprentices we’ve welcomed over the last two years.”

Frankie Isherwood, associate director, CBRE’s Northern Occupier Services team, said: “Turner & Townsend staff will get to enjoy the high quality amenity on offer in the building including a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the city.”

Leasing agents on 11 York Street are CBRE and OBI. CBRE acted on behalf of Turner & Townsend to secure the lease, while OBI acted for landlord, Aviva.
