Excello Law has added Andrew Rimmer and Helen Daley to its rapidly growing team of lawyers in Manchester.

Both renowned for their expertise in construction and engineering law, Andrew and Helen bring a wealth of experience to Excello Law. Andrew and Helen have joined Excello Law as a team, having worked closely together for the past four years.

Paul Holmes

TAB, the real estate finance and investment house set to have a £500m loan book in 2024, has made two appointments, Martyn Evans and Paul Holmes.

The appointments grow the company’s footprint beyond London and the M25 and increase capacity for the recent commercial product launch. The team will cover Liverpool and Manchester in their roles.

Evans joins as senior business development manager from Market Finance Solutions and will work closely with sales development director Jon Sturgess and the rest of the origination team to develop new and existing relationships located in the North.

Holmes has been appointed commercial underwriter, previously working at Redwood Bank and will be responsible for performing risk analysis as part of the credit process for prospective borrowers seeking commercial mortgages.

In recent months, TAB has seen substantial growth, increasing its team from 32 to 40 professionals. CEO and founder, Duncan Kreeger, said: “Martyn and Paul have a huge amount of experience and will add tremendous knowledge to our team. Having been predominantly London-based over the last five years, it is exciting to be growing our business in the North of England, and we look forward to increasing that presence over the coming years.”

David Burrows

Law firm Butcher & Barlow has appointed David Burrows to its commercial property team.

David has more than 37 years of legal expertise, particularly in the residential property new build sector, and has worked both in private practice for the likes of Kent, Jones and Done (now Freeths KJD), Glaisyers and inhouse at major housebuilder Redrow.

His arrival is seen as a significant appointment to the team and signals the firm’s commitment to attracting high calibre lawyers.

Managing partner, Jonathan Aldersley, welcomed Mr Burrows, saying: “His experience and specialist skill-set make him an excellent addition to our already well qualified, specialist team. When someone like David becomes available it is a very easy decision to make a move for him.”

David said: “My most recent in-house position with a major property developer allowed me to gain unique insights into the industry, a perspective that few lawyers possess. This vantage point has provided me with a deeper understanding of the issues that developers face daily, thus enabling me to provide comprehensive, practical, and tailored legal solutions.”

Butcher & Barlow employs 160 staff in 11 offices across the North West.

Brian Moran

Jigsaw Homes Group has appointed Brian Moran as its new chief executive.

He will take the helm at Jigsaw, which manages more than 36,000 homes across the North West and East Midlands, on December 16, 2023.

Brian has held the post of deputy chief executive and company secretary at Jigsaw for five years. He has 17 years’ experience at executive level, having worked previously as director of corporate services for the former Adactus Housing Group, which merged with New Charter Homes in 2018 to form Jigsaw.

He was part of the executive management team which in 2022 led the organisation to secure a £360m sustainability Bond to support its development programme, aiming to deliver 4,000 new homes by 2028.

He will replace the organisation’s current chief executive, Hilary Roberts, who will be retiring.

Brian said: “I am very excited to be presented with the opportunity to succeed Hilary and to build on her legacy. What we do at Jigsaw is important and it matters to so many people, including myself.”

Reuben Jenkins

Marketing, digital and technology recruitment agency, Forward Role, has appointed Reuben Jenkins as associate director.

Reuben will be leading Manchester-based Forward Role’s technology team, to strengthen its expansion in the technology space across the UK and Europe. Reuben joins with 10 years’ experience in leading high performing recruitment teams, embedding himself in key technology markets, and building a strong reputation. As a result, he has worked with software teams across the UK and has helped more than 350 software engineers build exciting careers.
