Liverpool One F&B offer boosted with addition of The Real Greek

The Real Greek

Liverpool One is the site of authentic Greek restaurant, The Real Greek’s latest opening.

The Grosvenor-owned retail site will see the Fulham Shore-owned brand open its debut site in the city with a 3,900 sq ft unit on Paradise Street in late January.

It is the 11th food and beverage (F&B) and leisure operator to commit to Liverpool One so far this year, and takes the total area of F&B and leisure space signed or opened at Liverpool One in 2023 to 156,000 sq ft.

In addition to The Real Greek, Turtle Bay, the popular Caribbean restaurant and bar, has reaffirmed its commitment to the scheme by upsizing its existing unit on Hanover Street to create a 3,700 sq ft flagship. Loretta’s Parkside Tavern, an independent café cocktail bar, has also recently opened in 1,600 sq ft on Chavasse Park.

The other eight brands to have taken or extended space within Liverpool One so far this year are: Gravity MAX (100,000 sq ft); Flight Club (10,000 sq ft); MOJO (3,500 sq ft); Byron (3,200 sq ft); Leveltap (6,500 sq ft), Liverpool’s first dedicated esports venue; Joe & The Juice (1,800 sq ft); independent coffee shop, Bean Coffee Roasters (4,400 sq ft), and School Lane Hotel (17,400 sq ft).

Rob Deacon, asset management director at Grosvenor, said: “The Real Greek is an excellent addition to Liverpool One’s diverse selection of F&B operators, offering yet another unique option for our visitors.

“Along with the fantastic brands to have committed to the destination this year, including Gravity MAX and Flight Club, The Real Greek’s debut is further compelling evidence of the sustained demand for Liverpool One among leading operators.”

The Real Greek will deliver an authentic Greek dining experience, serving cold and hot meze, Souvlaki Wraps and Greek salads, as well as sweet Greek treats such as Baklava.

Diners will also enjoy a menu of Greek drinks, from Moschofilero to Mavrodaphne wine, Mythos beer, and classic aperitifs such as Tsipouro and Ouzo.

With 162 covers, including 38 outside, the space will be fitted out in The Real Greek’s signature contemporary style, featuring white and blue accents throughout, and a range of Mediterranean-inspired art and photography.

Nabil Mankarious, The Real Greek managing director, said: “We have always been keen to expand to Liverpool, as it is renowned for its diverse and high quality hospitality scene, so securing a home for our new restaurant right in the heart of Liverpool One is a hugely exciting announcement for us.

“We are thrilled to be making our debut in this vibrant city, and can’t wait to introduce our authentic Greek flavours to a brand new audience.”

The signings come as Liverpool One experiences strong performance across its F&B and leisure brands, with grab-and-go and restaurant sales up 18% and 7.2%, respectively, in September versus the same month in 2022.
