Waste management company achieves record financial year
Knutsford-based CRJ Services, the waste, recycling and forestry equipment solutions provider, has recorded its best financial year, with both turnover and pre-tax profits improving.
Revenues for 2023 reached £25.3m, up from £19.1m in 2022, while pre-tax profits of £2.36m were an improvement on the previous year’s £1.78m figure.
The results follow a year of strong growth for CRJ and underlines its ambitious growth plans for the future, with the business already investing more than £6m in additional assets to boost its hire fleet.
The growth has also seen CRJ make a number of senior hires to join its team of 70 staff, with Jules Cullis joining as area sales manager and Michael Griffin as senior key account manager to help improve and streamline business efficiencies and support ever growing customer demand.
The year also saw CRJ announce an exclusive partnership with agricultural, municipal and recycling machines manufacturer, Pronar, and the business continues to be the exclusive dealer for JENZ GmbH and HAAS Recycling Systems in the UK.
Finance director, Andrew Clarkson, said: “In a year that continues to be dominated by economic uncertainty and where many industries have experienced real financial challenges, our results show our commitment to growing our business and continuing to support our customers with excellent levels of service.
“Being able to report record results lays the groundwork for our ambitious future growth plans and with an excellent team in place, and a pipeline of strong opportunities, we’re looking forward to what 2024 brings.”
CRJ Services provides serves to more than 300 customers, including The Jockey Club, which owns 15 racecourses across the UK. In April this year, The Jockey Club appointed CRJ Services to shred 20 tonnes of old spruce that tops the fences used on the Grand National course at Aintree.
Aintree approached CRJ Services for a solution, with the firm’s high speed shredders able to be hired with an operator.
