Cheshire’s Kinaxia Logistics has invested more than £6m to upgrade its fleet with more than 200 bespoke new curtainsiders from Winsford-based Tiger Trailers.

The logistics group has acquired 205 new trailers and is looking to order more in 2024.

They are being deployed across the group as part of Kinaxia’s move to standardise its curtainside trailer fleet.

Each is equipped with several safety features, including the Axscend TrailerMaster tracking system, which reports on the status and location of a trailer and alerts the user to any brake or tyre issues. It is designed to reduce the downtime of a vehicle, boost security and efficiency and ensure compliance.

James Hathaway, Kinaxia’s group fleet manager, said: “We are upgrading and standardising our equipment across the group to meet the needs of our customers.

“These new high-spec Tiger trailers ensure maximum safety, compliance and efficiency and have been very well received by our team and our clients.”

Kinaxia is a top 15 UK logistics group which has its headquarters in Macclesfield. It employs more than 1,700 staff nationwide with a fleet of more than 850 vehicles transporting goods for the retail, leisure, food and drink and manufacturing sectors.

The group also has 2.7 million sq ft of warehouse facilities nationwide, offering contract packing, e-fulfilment, returns management, storage services and a complete distribution service. Group turnover was more than £200m in 2022, the 10th anniversary of the business.

Steve Pollock, business development director at Tiger Trailers, said: “Our sales, design and engineering teams worked closely with Kinaxia and other suppliers to ensure the new curtainsiders were manufactured with the customer’s bespoke specifications and features.”
