A North West recruitment agency is creating 10 new employment opportunities for recent graduates in Manchester.  The City Recruiter is looking to hire more young people to expand departments including legal, IT, construction and sales.

Drug developer Evgen Pharma has made Toni Hänninen permanent chief financial officer and he will join the board of directors.

He was previously CFO at Faron Pharmaceuticals Ltd, an AIM and Nasdaq First North listed clinical stage biopharmaceutical company based in Finland and the US.

Susan Clement-Davies is retiring from her position as Non-Executive Director on the 31 December 2023 in order to focus on her other board positions. Susan has been on the Evgen Pharma board since 2018.

Dr Jalal Bagherli

Nanoco has appointed Dr Jalal Bagherli and Mr Dieter May as independent Non-Executive Directors (NEDs). Both appointments add relevant industry experience and networks as the company continues its transition from R&D first mover to an electronics materials production company. Dr Jalal Bagherli was the CEO of Dialog Semiconductor from 2005 until the successful sale of the company to Japan’s Renasas in 2021. 

Dieter May was Chairman and CEO of Osram Opto Semiconductors GmbH, one of the world’s leading optoelectronic components companies, participating in electronics applications such as facial and iris recognition, health monitoring, vehicle navigation, and virtual and augmented reality as well as uLED displays and will join the Board on 1 February 2024. Dr Jalal Bagherli will join the board on 5 April 2024.

Vic Richardson

Jackson Lees solicitors has recruited family law solicitor Victoria Richardson who will be bringing her 25 years of expertise to the firm, which covers Liverpool and the Wirral areas, as solicitor and team leader having previously represented a number of high-net-worth cases dealing with a significant number of experts from a varied background.

Caroline White

Caroline White has started a new position as Community Engagement Manager at the MediaCity Immersive Technologies Innovation Hub which will support immersive, virtual production and ESports innovation in partnership with The University of Salford. 

She previously worked as a consultant in future facing sectors that explore immersive tech, including with Prox & Reverie, a multi-reality experience company.

She’s also worked at Manchester Metropolitan University as a business development manager working with healthcare and tech businesses.

Maria Mander has joined Barchester Healthcare as Head of Resident Experience & Wellbeing Lead. She will be responsible for delivering the Care and Life Enrichment Strategy to enhance the mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing of c12,000 residents across 240 care homes in the UK.
