Supreme swoops for contract manufacturing plant

Sandy Chadha

Consumer goods manufacturer and brand owner Supreme has bought the trade and assets of FoodIQ UK Holdings Limited out of administration for £175,000.

The acquisition of the London-based business gives Supreme access to a purpose-built, state-of-the-art, accredited, automated contract manufacturing facility that opened only 18 months ago and cost almost £1.2m to build.

The company was only formed in 2020 but appointed administrators from Kroll just before Christmas.

Foodiq UK described itself as “a leading contract manufacturer in the sports and active nutrition sector providing customers with high quality powder products packed into tubs or pouches.”

Supreme plans to keep the facility at Hayes in Middlesex operational and expects it will increase Supreme’s wellness manufacturing capacity by around 40%.

Sandy Chadha, chief executive of Supreme, said: “This acquisition … provides our fast-growing Sports Nutrition & Wellness division with the manufacturing capacity required to meet growing demand.

“We have used Food IQ in the past to manage capacity requirements in our Sports Nutrition & Wellness division so are familiar with their capability.”
