Provexis closes in on Fruitflow deal

BIOTECH business Provexis is close to lining up a deal for its Fruitflow drink with a Swiss multinational.
In a statement to the stock market it said it had entered into a “letter of intent” with DSM Nutritional Products which could lead to an agreement to develp, market and sell the product throughout the world.
Fruitflow, Provexis’s main product, is a tomato-based drink that thins the blood and helps circulation.
Under the terms of the deal Provexis would continue to develop Fruitflow and DSM would contribute manufacturing and sales.
Stephen Moon, Provexis’s chief executive said: “We firmly believe that the expertise, scale and reputation of DSM will underpin the commercial success of Fruitflow. DSM has existing relationships with key companies globally in food, beverage and consumer healthcare.
“This coupled with its substantial sales force made this the best strategic fit for Provexis and will enable us to build Fruitflow into a significant global functional food brand. Provexis and DSM are currently assessing further projects which may develop the scope of the agreement further.”
Provexis has its headquarters in Windsor but operates its research and development base in Liverpool.
