Salford-based global recruiter, Morson Group, has completed the acquisition of InterQuest Group and Astraeus Consulting from Berkhamsted-based parent company, Albany Beck Holdings, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2001, under the leadership of chairman Gary Ashworth and CEO Greg Coleshill, London-based InterQuest has experienced rapid growth in recent years, seeking to meet the rising demand for specialised talent.

The deals are part of Morson’s commitment to expanding its service offerings and solidifying its presence in the technology sector.

Gary Ashworth said: “This collaboration with Morson Group will help InterQuest build on its expertise and continue to deliver quality talent services.

“Morson Group’s track record of growth, positive client outcomes and innovation makes this an exciting opportunity for everyone involved.”

Astraeus Consulting is based in Northumberland and provides business and domestic software development services.

Morson Group chief executive, Ged Mason, said: “We welcome the new team and look forward to working collaboratively with our new colleagues within the InterQuest Group and Astraeus Consulting, our strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering unparalleled talent solutions.

“Integrating the strengths of both organisations, including Morson Tech, Cornwallis Elt and The Bridge IT, we aim to elevate our enviable position as industry leaders in technology recruitment as we become an SIA Top 10 IT Staffing Firm.”

He added: “This collaboration reflects our shared values of innovation, client-centricity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the ever-evolving global talent landscape.

“Welcoming them to the Morson family, we are excited about the collective expertise and dedication they bring to our shared mission of shaping the future of talent solutions.”

FRP Corporate Finance advised the shareholders of InterQuest on the sale. Its team, led by partner Mark Farlow, associate director Ed Shurville-Darlington and manager Chris Haidar, managed all stages of the deal from initial buyer interaction through to managing the due diligence and completion process.

Mark Farlow said: “The technology recruitment sector is starting to show signs of a recovery, with a noticeable upturn in market sentiment as we move into 2024.

“The sale of InterQuest to Morson Group is further evidence that technology remains the hottest recruitment sector due to the ongoing skills shortage – a trend that the expanded Morson Group is well positioned to capitalise on.”

He added: “The acquisition of the award-winning InterQuest Group will allow Morson Group to continue expanding its service offering and become a market leading technology recruitment business.

“These two businesses represent a perfect fit, and we look forward to seeing what they can achieve together.”
