Land acquisition deal sets up scheme for 75 energy-efficient homes

CGI of plans for Thorley Glade

Miller Homes has acquired land for a residential development in the picturesque area of Timperley, in Greater Manchester, for an undisclosed sum.

The scheme, named Thorley Glade, is set to include 75 energy-efficient, new build homes.

The development will begin in spring 2025, with the show home to follow in July and the first completions taking place in August 2025.

A Section 106 agreement is in place with Trafford Borough Council, which will inject substantial funds into the area, supporting education, transport, green networks, ecological corridors and infrastructure. Play facilities will also be provided for the enjoyment of new and existing residents.

David Brackley, Regional Operations Director at Miller Homes, said: “The purchase of Thorley Glade not only aligns with our vision for expansion, but also represents a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering high quality homes in desirable locations in the North West.

“We are committed to using our longstanding expertise to enrich the local community and this development will respect and reinforce the existing residential character of Timperley.”

The site offers an opportunity to create a Western gateway into Timperley Wedge.

Thorley Glade will also provide a mix of housing types and tenure to cater for local needs, significantly contributing to the local community.

This product mix is set to include homes to suit first time buyers, growing families, and downsizers alongside a mix of accessible and affordable homes.

Thorley Glade will benefit from transport links close by including the tram which provides access into Manchester city centre in 30 minutes. The development will also be a commutable distance from other major cities, including Liverpool.
